ED raids BJP leader and former Pimpri bank chairman for loan fraud: 3 new cases registered

PUNE Pimpri Chinchwad: A team of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the house of Amar Moolchandani, former chairman of The Sewa Vikas Bank, on Friday (27). At this time a case was registered in Pimpri Police Station for obstructing government work and destroying evidence. Meanwhile, Amar Moolchandani was admitted to Pune’s Sassoon Hospital for treatment. Five others were sent to judicial custody on Sunday (29).

The names of the accused are Amar Moolchandani, Ashok Sadhuram Moolchandani, Manohar Sadhuram Moolchandani, Daya Ashok Moolchandani, Sadhana Moolchandani, Sagar Manohar Moolchandani. Several cases have been registered in the city of Pimpri-Chinchwad in the case of alleged malpractice in The Sewa Vikas Co-op Bank. The Seva Vikas Co-op Bank was audited by the cooperative. It was pointed out that there was financial misappropriation.

ED raided Amar Moolchandani’s house at 6.30 am on Friday morning in the case of Seva Vikas Bank fraud. After knocking for a long time the door did not open and started breaking the door. Then the door opened. Amar Moolchandani was hiding in a room for a long time after the ED officials came to the house. However, as the door of that room did not open, they prepared to break the door. Then this door was opened with the key. After that the team of ‘ED’ arrested Amar Moolchandani. Meanwhile, Amar Moolchandani destroyed the evidence in the mobile phone, the prosecution has stated. After sometime after being taken into custody by ED, Amar Moolchandani told the authorities that he was having pain in his chest. After that he was admitted to Sassoon Hospital in Pune.

“Amar Moolchandani is in the hospital. A case has been registered in Pimpri police station against Amar Moolchandani and six people for creating obstruction in government work. The accused also include women. The women were detained on Sunday (29). Later, when produced in court, five accused including women were remanded to judicial custody.” – Rupali Bobde, Police Inspector, Investigation Officer

The Pimpri Chinchwad police have registered three new cases against former chairperson, directors, staff members, and loan beneficiaries of the Seva Vikas Co-operative Bank, in a loan fraud estimated to be worth ₹429.57 crore, said Krishna Prakash,cCommissioner, Pimpri-Chinchwad police.
